Louise Bourgeois

I just got this beautiful book from the local library, I love the work of Louise Bourgeois, her work is deeply affecting, I particularly like the small stitched figures and her drawings. She is a good example of an artist working without boundaries in her choice of materials. There will be a major exhibition of her work at Tate Modern in October.

While browsing the Tate website I saw that another favourite artist has a show coming up even sooner in March, Basil Beattie is a painter whose work I have come across now and then in group shows, so it is great to see that he has a solo show at Tate Britain. Details are here.
