Collect organised by the Crafts Council was inspirational. There were galleries from all over Europe showing the work of a wonderfully eclectic group of artists. I will be posting some of my favourites over the next few days.
I wish i'd got to Collect, I was undecided about coming up to London again and then friends arranged to meet me down here and I ended up missing it. Next time...
"Mandy Prowse studied painting and printmaking at Maidstone College of Art. She explores natural and human forms and the interconnectedness of all things. Themes in her work relate to birth, mortality and metamorphosis. Her altered books are minimalistic and organic combining a modern aesthetic with an almost Victorian touch. If you told me these books were 100 years old I wouldn’t think twice about it.”
