Every once in a while, I am reminded of what Albert Pinkham Ryder said about art-making being like a caterpillar at the end of a blade of grass, feeling in the air.
"Mandy Prowse studied painting and printmaking at Maidstone College of Art. She explores natural and human forms and the interconnectedness of all things. Themes in her work relate to birth, mortality and metamorphosis. Her altered books are minimalistic and organic combining a modern aesthetic with an almost Victorian touch. If you told me these books were 100 years old I wouldn’t think twice about it.”
