Jan Svankmajer

The brilliant Czech film-maker Jan Svankmajer is showing a season of his animated surrealist films at the newly named BFI Southbank in London (formerly the NFT) from the 1 until 21 June. Including the release of this film from 2006 called Lunacy which features a certain amount of animated meat . . .
His wife, the artist, Eva Svankmajerova collaborated with him on his films until her death in 2005. She designed this poster for his 1989 masterpiece, Alice.
