Selvedge

The Jurgen Lehl spring collection, illustrated by Hideaki Matsuura.
The new issue of the textile and design magazine, Selvedge is out now. I met their designer Rebecca Machin at the Contemporary Textiles Fair today where they had a stand. I recently discovered that they have an amazing book shop online - it is really worth looking at for inspiration. They have an eclectic selection of unusual books including the Telos series - which if you have not come across them - publish monographs of textile artists from all over the world.

I love this front cover illustration!

Yes the focus is textiles but in a very broad context from fine art to fashion and interiors, contemporary and historical. It is a very beautifully presented publication -more like a book than a magazine (which is reflected in the price - £7.50) - even the ads are good to look at.

I'd really like to know who illustrated the cover?

The illustrator is Hideaki Matsuura.

Thanks -- I was captivated by the drawing style. Now that I know who it is, I can't find this person's site or work anywhere online!

The illustration is for Jurgen Lehl's spring collection and there is more of Matsuura's work there, http://www.jurgenlehl.jp/
