Here are some new ideas I am working on for brooches, it has been lovely to start stitching again after a long absence. The book was a recent find at the car boot. It had quadrupled in price from 2/6 to 50p! Published in 1885.
"Mandy Prowse studied painting and printmaking at Maidstone College of Art. She explores natural and human forms and the interconnectedness of all things. Themes in her work relate to birth, mortality and metamorphosis. Her altered books are minimalistic and organic combining a modern aesthetic with an almost Victorian touch. If you told me these books were 100 years old I wouldn’t think twice about it.”

Love these brooches. I am a sucker for ticking! And red black and white for that matter! Looking forward to seeing more.
Thankyou for the encouraging words Ronnie - it means a lot :)
