Paper Works

Clare Goddard

Paper Works: Paper Works, an exhibition featuring twelve international artists at Flow, harnesses the sensitivity of the hand-made object. Fragility and transience are the immediate connotations which resonate in the use of paper as a medium for creating three-dimensional form. Single sheets are either reworked or pulped to form visually striking works of art.

As part of this year's Origin, the Crafts Council and Somerset House have co-curated The Origin Intervention. Work by 9 artists in Somerset House and the Pavilion. This piece is by Richard Sweeney and it is located in the stairwell of the Stamp stair in Somerset House.

Paintworks

Paintworks, 99-101 Kingsland Road, London E2 has the best paper supplies as well as lots of other art materials - I love to use their ready cut sheets of acid free cartridge and rag paper - all in handy packs and for a very reasonable price. I cannot believe I forgot to take a photograph of the shop!

Sophie Azimont

Here is the paper rabbit by French artist Sophie Azimont - the dress is made from an old french embroidery pattern book. The background is a map of Paris which I found at the local bric-a-brac market. Sophie is one of the artists at Made in Hastings, a shop selling all sorts of delightful things.
