Jodie Carey

Jodie Carey is showing new work Still, Life. at the Alexia Goethe Gallery, 7 Dover Street, London W1 until 21 June. Her work focuses on the traditions of ritual, artifice and mortality in contemporary Western society. The show will feature shrines that herald both the ritual of mourning and the intranscience of life, playing on the perception that traditional memorials have an opposite effect to their intent: "There is a perversity in that once you commemorate something, it is far easier to walk away. It's not lest we forget, it's more lest we remember." Jodie Carey

Artists' studios

The studio of Anthony Gormley photographed by Eamonn McCabe for The Guardian newspaper in February. The Guardian features the rooms of writers and artists every Saturday and I love to study these pictures looking for clues to their creative process.

Lenore Tawney's studio photographed by William Seitz in 1994, I found this in the Feb/Mar issue of American Craft magazine.

Sekana Radovic

I love this piece of work by Sekana Radovic. This photograph of her work is intriguing and the title, Whatever you weave, tie the strings to the sky, is so beautiful. I have got to know the wonderful work of Sekana Radovic through flickr. You can see more of her work here or click on the image to go to her flickr page.

Yes Gallery and Studio

Yes Gallery and Studio is opening this month in Warren, Rhode Island in the USA. Leigh Medeiros has invited me to show my drawings there. Here is a picture of the gallery before they opened. This is my first time showing work in America. After all the recent sadness I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity. I wish Leigh and her team lots of luck with their new venture. You can find more info on the Yes Gallery blog.
