The Daily Project

Day 10 of The Daily Project. I am enjoying this task that I have set myself, to make a card every day.  Lots of other projects to think about too! Here is a selection of cards sitting on the line waiting to be packaged up. It feels good to finally open an etsy shop too.  I hope your New Year is going well.

11.35am

There is a new group on flickr called desk thursday. I like this group. It has motivated me to tidy my desk. After all that tidying, it must be time for coffee and a look at this lovely book from my local library, Being Human, published by Thames & Hudson. Enigmatic photographs of people by unknown photographers.

Wall

There is a HUGE creative block in the feltbug studio, I am biding my time and know it will pass but it has been going on for a few months now. I have been putting old work up on the walls to try and jog that part of my brain that is dormant. I have been LOOKING; visiting galleries, borrowing library books, taking photographs of the world around me, browsing flickr and LISTENING; to many wonderful musicians, BLOGGING and reading so many blogs full of wonder and delight so things are not so still. Maybe I am too busy with all these voices and influences. Life holds little time for standing still and being silent.

On Monday night things stood still for a little while at a wonderful gig I went to and the walls came tumbling down:)

Natural light

I love natural light. I will miss this beautiful big window.
What do you see when you are lying down?
Send your jpegs to the lying down looking up blog.

In the studio

Here is a selection of shots of my month long stay at this open plan space for artists. It was challenging, frustrating, enlightening and best of all, got me painting again. The most rewarding element was to be in a professional space where I could 'go to work' with no distractions.

In the studio

I have hired this studio space for 4 weeks. No distractions, no clutter, no music - just me and some paper and drawing materials with a few bits of memorabilia for company. I spent the first day here feeling very tearful, the last time I had a workspace like this was in 1990. It is so light! I am already in my 3rd week and today was my first really productive day.
